Review: Rihanna - Man Down - The Video + Song

Vevo just released the video for Rihanna's latest single off her album, Loud. The title of the single is "Man Down".

Rihanna is a great artist. She has that distinct Bajan accent that just separates her from all the other pop superstars nowadays. Her voice has that coarse texture to it that really acts well with her voice.

I have bought her albums Loud and Rated R. and I have album tours for them which could be found at the "Rihanna" Tag at the left side of this page.

This was shot in Jamaica, I think.

Synopsis:

The video starts with Rihanna in Central Station. She is shown hidden behind the scenes and she cocks the gun, and shoots it. A man is killed and it causes a stampede or a riot at some point. During this scene she is shown looking angered and regretful after shooting the man. She flees the scene of the crime. It fades to black, then a text slide is shown.

"Yesterday Morning"

The music video finally comes to a start. Throughout the video she is shown in various locations, dancing and interacting with her Jamaican fans. She's very happy, and is ALMOST always flashing a smile.

There are those scenes where she is shown in side view beside a window, and it just amplifies the size of her forehead. WHICH, I don't like honestly. This is supposed to be having a dark and gloomy vibe to it, but it doesn't. It has that happy mood.

Towards the end, It shows the reason why Rihanna kills the man. She is shown floating on a raft, recalling. She had an abusive relationship and she was hurt by this love partner. She then scrambles the clothes drawer and gets the gun. Sudden Blackness.

OVERALL RATING:  4.99 Stars

One thing I didn't like ? The forehead.  =) Not hating.
