A Walk To Remember: Book & Movie Review

I know this is kind of late (by 8 Years), But I don't have anything new to write about except This.
At School, we have reading logs we have to submit weekly. Luckily, I picked out a Nicholas Sparks Novel Since "The Notebook" is not there.
It took me about 1 week to read the whole book through because of School and of the reason that I am just not in the mood.

LET's GET STARTED WITH THE REVIEW AFTER THE JUMP!

THE NOVEL

The Book revolves around the romance of Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan.
Jamie is a religious always-with-a-bible type of girl because she is the
daughter of the Reverend. It is set in Beaufort in Winter, 1950's.
Landon is a popular kid in High School and its the prom night. He has no date. So he asked out Jamie Sullivan because he knew she wouldn't
turn him down because of her addiction habit to help people, BUT there was a catch; Landon Shouldn't fall in love with Jamie. So they Went Together. Someone puked and they Jamie cleaned it with the help of Landon.
and Jamie Convinced Landon to Join a Christmas play "The Christmas Angel".
They Become Closer they walked together going home numerous times.
An orphanage is also in the story. They Fall in love, Jamie reveals she Has Leukemia, time Runs out, Landon and Jamie Read the Bible together daily, and they got married. It is never mentioned if Jamie Lived or Died or Lived in the end, but Nicholas Sparks Said: "As to whether she actually lived or died, it's ambiguous and purposely meant to be that way. If you wanted Jamie to live, she lived. If you knew that Jamie would die, she died."

AS FOR THE MOVIE,

The Movie is set in Beaufort, 1998. It is not Narrated by an older 57-Year Old Landon. No Prom happened, No orphans, no Christmas Play because it is set in Spring. Jamie sings and Landon doesn't have a Big House. It Sucked was good in terms of the drama but I expected the movie to follow the plot of the Novel, So I wasn't THAT Impressed.
AND, Jamie Died.

BOOK TO MOVIE DIFFERENCES I NOTICED:

  • The Movie Jamie sings. In the novel, she doesn't
  • The movie didn't emphasize how Jamie is very religious.
  • Contrary to the Novel's setting in Winter, The Movie is set in Spring.
  • The novel is set in the Mid-1950's, The Movie is set 1998
  • Jamie and Landon did not read the bible together in the Movie.
  • there is no Orphanage
  • In the movie, Jamie gives her mother's bible in the cemetery, While in the novel, Jamie gives Landon her mother's bible on Christmas Eve
  • No Donations Canned were collected for the orphans. Apparently there were no orphans.
  • Jamie never said I want to Die at Home in the Movie.
  • Jamie and Landon never walked home together in the movie
  • The novel Did not include a "Hazing" at the beginning.
  • Rev. Hegbert Cries in the Novel. in the movie, He doesn't.
  • In the novel, Jamie isn't allowed to let her visitors in the house, instead, into the porch only. In the movie, Jamie always allowed people in
  • Jamie's attitude in the movie is sassy but kind, In the Novel, Jamie's attitude is Purely Kind.
  • In the novel, Jamie was to weak to walk in her wedding. In the movie, she appeared really fine.
  • In the movie, Jamie died. In the novel, It wasn't mentioned.
  • the Novel Jamie wasn't interested in Stars
  • in the Novel, Landon never named a star after Jamie.
  • In the novel, Jamie does not get a tattoo.
  • In the novel, Jamie never had a to-do list.
  • In the end of the novel, Landon says "Miracles do Happen."
  • In the novel, Landon took the last minute to ask Jamie to marry him. In the movie, he had it planned.
